Our Canvas Giclée One of the newest and most precise methods of fine art reproduction on canvas utilizes the Giclée process. A Giclée offers remarkable detail and the richest possible interpretation for our artwork. Giclée prints (originals) are widely accepted at museums and galleries. Many museums in the United States and abroad have either mounted exhibitions of original Giclée prints or purchased original prints for their permanent collections. These include: the Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York), the Guggenheim (New York), The Museum of Fine Art (Boston), and The Smithsonian Institute. We offer two types of Giclée: one that is embellished with brush strokes in oil by Jose Manuel Gomez, where the artwork is enhanced with additional highlights and intense color, making each piece truly unique; and one that is not embellished. The embellished Giclée is signed and offered in limited editions of 100 or less and comes with museum quality frames; and the non-embellished is signed and offered in limited editions of 250. Both types of Giclée will include a signed original certificate documenting the title of the painting, canvas type, printer type, ink type, date printed, edition size, and other particulars. Our Giclée process begins with the input stage. A picture of the original painting is taken to create a digital file; the picture is taken in Spain where the artist and original artwork are located. The resulting file will be entered into the computer, where the file must be color balanced and adjusted to match the original artwork. Making the final print match the original painting is an art in itself and calls for a great deal of patience and skill. This part of the process is done in Boca Raton, Florida. Our Giclée is printed on an Epson printer on premium Fredrix canvas, with Epson pigmented ink, not dye. While the predicted display life depends on many variables, Epson claims the ink will resist noticeable fading for over 80 years. Because Giclée technology allows the image to be stored on a disk, we have the choice of printing a Limited Edition on a "print-on-demand" basis. Once the image is printed, the first light coat of non-yellowing varnish is applied. When the varnish dries, it is shipped to Spain to be signed and embellished by the artist and then shipped back to Florida where it is given two more coats of varnish for protection. It is then stretched, framed, and ready to be shipped. The process usually takes about four weeks from the date the order is placed. Care: The Giclée should be afforded the same level of care as an original piece of art. Artwork should be kept out of direct sun and moisture should be avoided. They are valuable works of art and should be handled with care. |

Sizes listed on the Price List are for a general guideline; other custom sizes are also available. The size of the Giclée and frame mostly depends on the shape of the original painting. For example, if the original painting is square shaped, it may not be reproduced as a 12” x 24” rectangular shaped Giclée. Embellished Giclée's are framed with a choice of museum quality Baroque style wood frames with a concave design and antique gold finish or dark gold. Frames are also available in light walnut and dark brown tones. View our frames for embellished Giclée below:
